FTT Embedded Finance & Super Apps brought together a community of innovators and industry practitioners, including retailers, manufacturers, financial institutions, insurers, telcos, fintechs and tech providers to delve into the trends, innovations and technologies re-defining the future of how financial services are devised and distributed.
During the event, Lisa Moyle, Co-Founder and Chief Strategy Officer at VC Innovations, caught up with Alex Reddish, Managing Director at Tribe Payments to discuss some of the most exciting trends and technologies impacting embedded payments.
Born in 2018 in the UK and launched in 2019, Tribe Payments is a B2B fintech company providing the back-end technology that powers the banking and payments services of several global financial institutions and fintech businesses. They offer solutions including payment processing, digital banking and wallets, payments gateways and POS, and many more, servicing both the acquiring and issuing market.
Alex 12 years of experience in the financial services and payments sector include Head of Issuing at Valitor; Head of Business Relations at Valitor and Head of European Business at Raphaels Bank. Alex strives to create innovative payment solutions by using an entire career of knowledge within the financial services industry. In his role as Managing Director at Tribe Payments, Alex focuses on bringing payments and fintech into the mainstream.
When asked about the most exciting opportunities to deliver value to their clients, Alex thinks that “Embedded finance is now much more around a traditional and additional data set”. He also noted “what we as a consumer expect now is much more focussed on the value add, rather than the payment itself”. Alex elaborated with some examples of how embedded finance can provide the consumer and business reciprocal value, “Embedded finance providers and distributors of payments solutions really need to set themselves apart when it comes to winning the hearts and minds, the loyalty of the customer.”
